What to Expect
Typically the AMA Supercross Championship happens from January, to mid May covering 17 rounds hosted in famous stadiums across major U.S. Cities. Riders competing in the 450SX, 250SX West and 250SX East categories battle for the championship title facing challenges at each round.
The 2024 season left its mark in history. The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship wrapped up its 17 round series on Saturday, May 11 in Salt Lake City, where Jett Lawrence from Team Honda HRC secured the 450SX Class championship. At 20 years old Lawrence not clinched the title but also earned recognition as Rookie of the Year. With eight victories under his belt that year he became the racer ever to seize the Premier Class title in his rookie season. Lawrences season was highlighted by moments like his debut triumph at Anaheims season opener. A first time achievement for a racer winning their Premier Class debut.
The competition was fierce in both the Western Regional Championships of the 250SX classes, during the thrilling course of the 2024 season.
The Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Showdown brought racers from both regions together naming Tom Vialle, from Red Bull KTM as the champion of the Eastern Region and RJ Hampshire from Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, as the champion of the Western Region.
As we look ahead to 2025, fans can expect even more thrilling action. Lawrence will undoubtedly be a rider to watch as he defends his title, but he will face fierce competition from other top riders and emerging talent hungry for victory. The 2024 season’s record-breaking attendance and high viewership numbers set a new standard for the sport, and with the continued growth of streaming and international broadcasts, Supercross is reaching a larger audience than ever before.
The 2025 season is expected to continue the trend of high-octane racing, packed stadiums, and unforgettable moments. With innovations like drone footage and leader light technology enhancing the viewing experience both in the stadium and at home, fans are in for a spectacular season. Whether it’s the technical challenges of Anaheim or the high-speed thrills of Arlington, every round promises to be a must-watch event.
Popular Venues and Cities
Even though the exact places are yet to be confirmed, expect to see some of the most iconic venues in the history of Supercross during the 2025 season. Locations such as Anaheim, San Diego, and Las Vegas have been the regular stops on the Supercross calendar; the events held in such locations always claim action-packed races backed by sold-out stadiums. Other probable locations are Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Arlington, known for their lively supporters and demanding tracks.
